Frequently asked questions

What are all the different post types?

There are five basic post styles:

  • Line Post: Used when a fence panel passes straight through on both sides.
  • Corner Post: Used at a 90° turn.
  • End Post: Used at the end of a fence run or between gates.
  • Blank Post: Used on the non-hinge side of a gate with no panel attached.
  • 3-Way Post: Used when the fence continues straight and turns a corner.

Can vinyl or aluminum fence panels be cut to size?

Yes, vinyl and aluminum fence panels can be cut just like wood. For example, if you need a 5' wide section, you can purchase a 6' section and cut it to size.

How do I measure for a gate?

If your fence fully encloses an area, include a gate for access. Always measure your gate after assembly, including hardware. Example: If your gate is 44.5" wide and you need 2" for hardware, your total inside-to-inside dimension will be 46.5".

Can I request a quote?

Absolutely! To request a quote, just e-mail your diagram to info@weatherables.com or fax it to 1-614-771-4806. Please be sure to include your name, address, fence style and height, post cap style and most importantly - your phone number so we can call you back. A lot of people just take a picture of their diagram with their cell phone and then email to us!
