How to Set Fence Posts With Fast 2K

1. Match the bag to the post. Use one 12.4 oz. bag for a 4-inch post. Use one 26 oz. bag for a 5-inch post or horse fence post. Gate posts require an aluminum gate post insert when using Fast 2K.

2. Lay out the fence line. Set stakes, pull a tight string line, and confirm gate locations before digging. Check gate spacing with hardware clearance in mind.

3. Dig the right hole. For Weatherables® Fast 2K installs, dig a 36-inch-deep, 6-inch-diameter hole for 4-inch posts. For 5-inch posts and horse fence posts, dig a 36-inch-deep, 8-inch-diameter hole.

4. Set and brace the post. Place the post in the hole, line it up with the string, and check plumb. Brace it before mixing.

5. Condition the bag before use. Fast 2K bags should be kept between 65°F and 80°F for 1 to 2 hours before installation. Cold bags react more slowly. Hot bags react faster and shorten working time.

6. Mix the bag. Remove the separator clip and mix for about 30 seconds, following the bag instructions. Keep scissors or a knife ready so you can open the bag right away.

7. Pour around the post. Cut the bag and pour the material evenly into the hole. Fast 2K expands fast, so it helps to keep the post braced and double-check plumb as the material rises in the hole. 

8. Let the product hold. Fast 2K holds posts in about 3 to 5 minutes. Make small adjustments early, before the material sets.

9. Trim extra material. After it cures, cut any excess at ground level with a shovel or sharp knife.
